The Why
I think often about meaningful, polarizing topics and our damaged approach to discourse, how media and demagogues capitalize on our emotions and beliefs to further their agendas or maintain their power, and the division that can be – and is – created and often fostered as a result of this polarization. I wanted to explore how contrary positions, thoughts, beliefs, and feelings could share the same space, and create a visual art collection delving into the pro/con nature of how we approach hard topics.
The Consequence is the start of a conversation. It explores “Themes” related to progress and advancement, humanity and nature, art and science, technology and human connection. Each piece showcases divergence and convergence, dark and light, presence and absence, with each theme abstractly represented in both the content of the piece, and the originating prompts that generated the base image.
